December 8th 2010 (Dar es Salaam and Singapore) – Vodacom Tanzania, Tanzania’s leading Mobile Network Operator, today announced that it has launched an International Airtime Transfer service, operated by TransferTo, the leading provider of Airtime Remittance services. |
With the international airtime transfer service Tanzanian’s living abroad, whether it be in the UK, South Africa, the USA or elsewhere, are able to transfer small amounts of value to their loved ones in Tanzania in the form of prepaid airtime.
By partnering with TransferTo Vodacom Tanzania will not only offer a new and innovative value transfer channel but will also reach a strategic but difficult to access customer segment, Tanzanians living abroad.
Prepaid airtime transfers to Vodacom Tanzania customers are performed in real time, it is very convenient and available through multiple channels: POS to Phone, Phone to Phone, Web to Phone. Available at www.transferto.com with payments possible in over 250.000 POS across Europe, Canada and South Africa, the service will also be offered in other regions such as the Gulf countries and in the USA through TransferTo distribution partners including POS retailers and partner Mobile Network Operators offering Phone to Phone airtime transfer services.
